My g grandfather was Johann Heinrich Schultz. He was born in Schleswig/Holstein Germany (Prussia) in December of 1841,and was a sailor by trade. Father was Hans Scultz, also of Holstein. Johann's marriage license in New York states that he was a Captain, home aboard vessel. He married Helene Marie Ehlers on Jan. 5th 1873 and her home was at 64 N. Moore in Manhattan. She had also come from Germany, and was born in Oldenburg in 1848. They later moved to Kansas. There were three sons, John, George (my father) and Ernest, and two daughters, Helen and Anna.
