Please help with mystery -SCHULTZ&JORKSH
My Grandfather is Otto SCHULTZ.
I only know of three years in his life!He worked in the mines in southern British Columbia, Canada from 1912 -1915.
In 1912 he married there and stated on the marriage certificate that:
He was age 35 and born in Lobau, Germany.
He was German Lutheran.
His Father was Carl SCHULTZ.
His Mother was Anna JORKSH.
The town of Lobau and JORKSH, the maiden name of his Mother, could be spelled differently (as this was written down by an English-speaking Minister as he heard Otto say it with his German accent).
In 1915 Otto left Canada for the U. S.
It was said that he went back to fight for Germany in World War 1.I do not know.Maybe he just left and even remarried in the U. S.
Does anyone know of Otto SCHULTZ, his Parents, Carl SCHULTZ and wife, Anna JORKSH (JORK), (JORKS) (GOERKE) or other ideas for similar spelling?
Does anyone have a SCHULTZ marriage that they can't trace and Otto might be a possibility?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
In my searching, I haven't come across any of them yet but have other SCHULTZ, info. if anyone has questions.
Thank you.
