I am looking for descendents of my great grandfather Martin Wilhelm Schuler (or Schueler), was born in 1835 in what was then Germany, to parents Thomas Schuler & former Christina Bubbel. The town could be Tilfitt or Tilsit or Tilssitt.
He was widowed in his first marriage and rumour has it that he left his first family in North America before migrating to Australia in the early 1870s. His occupation was a Cooper.
I beleive one of the cons form his first marriage ended up in the military. He died in Charters Towers, Australia on 7/20/1908.
