I have also a Carl Henry SCHUENEMAN(N), my GG Grandfather, b. Dec. 1861. He wasmarried to Harriet S. KIEHM, who's parents were from Germany. I found a passenger list from Hamburg, Germany of the ship SS Hammonia, that came to the Port ofNew York.I haven't found Carl's parents yet, but I'M thinking that the Hamburg, Germany family may be related to him. I'M still searching. I have discovered that the name SCHUENEMANN, as it was originally spelled has been cropped down to SCHUNEMAN as in my Mothers case. Carl Henry SCHUENEMANN is her Grandfather. Carl and Harriet (HATTIE) had 9 children. By the 8th child born, Florence SCHUENEMANN, it had dropped 2 letters. On my Mothers birth records it is spelled as Mothers maiden name (Flora SCHUNEMAN).I have contacted other SCHUENEMANN's but none of them had a Carl Henry. Something interesting about the Father on the ship. his first initials were C. H. that has me wondering.Maybe you have something I can use. Hope this helps. I have many other SCHUENEMAN's in my tree but Carl was the first I knew about.
