Hi Billy:

Thanks for your post. To the best of my knowledge Molly is not among our branch. I do know there are tons of Schroter's in the Victorville, Corpus area of Texas just from my exploring different spellings of our name. None of our branch located themselves in Texas that I am aware of. You do need to try variations of spelling of the last name as some had an umlaut over the "O" and U.S. Immigration had no character so the changed the spelling on people to the "OE" combination making them Schroeter's. Also, some were revised to be SCHROEDERS etc. In our branch, just the umlaut was dropped and the T was maintained, but that also could be a variation of our name also. The borders were changed from German to Polish and then back again many times and people got to Germanizing or Policizing their last names to asssume local cover I would guess. It has been driving me crazy over the years figuring this out. I have seen German documentation for our ancestry and that's how I am pretty confident there isn't a Molly in our background, unless the Molly part as Anglicized from another name.

Regards,

Ed Schroter
