Seeking any info on siblings, parents, place of birth, emigration/immigration, etc.

G-grandfather, Siegmound SCHREIBER, b 8 Aug 1869, Germany (location in Germ. unknown). Per US census immigrated to US in 1877; ports of arrival/departure unknown. Family rumor said young Siegmound traveled to US with an uncle. First shows up in 1900 US Census in Pittsburgh PA. (If he's in the 1880 census, I have not be able to locate.) Educated guess says he probably arrived in NYC or Philadelphia.

Nothing known of Siegmound's life prior to his marriage, 10 Aug. 1898, to Elizabeth McGraw, in Pittsburgh PA. Can account for all descendants & life from 1898 until his death in 1954.

Would very much like to find ANY info on Siegmound prior to 1898. Owned several restaurants (called Schreiber's) in downtown Pittsburgh c1910-1930's. Seek any photos (or addresses) of these restaurants. One restaurant said to be either next to or across street from B & O RR station. Unable to get to Pittsburgh to research. Lived in Washington DC in early 1940's; said to have been chef in US Senate & originator of their famous Navy Bean Soup, which is still on the menu there!
