About Heinz Schramm
It was quite by accident that my son found this one the computer.Iam the wife of Heinz Franz Schramm of Berlin Germany.Heinz and I became pen pals through a friend Hanna Wetzel of Berlin. Heinz came first to Canada and then in 1956 moved to Roechester NY. WE were married on August 11th 1956. We had 5 sons, Thomas, Timothy, Jeffrey, Robert and Paul. We hve one daughter Dorinda. Heinz changed his first name to Henry two years after we were married when he became a citizen of the USA.
Heinz worked for Eastman Kodak Co in Rochester for 20 year before he retired. We made over 12 trips to Berlin over the years and I remember on one of the visits visiting he Aunt Charlotte. She was quite elderly and had a very hard time hearing.I think they called her Lottie. Since Otto and Frieda were divorced we had very little opportunity to visit the Schramm side of the family.
Unfortunately I have the sad news to tell you that Heinz died on Sept 21st 1998. We had been married 42 years and at that point had 17 grandchildren...and we now have 14 great-grandchildren and there are 3 more soon to be born.
Most of our children live in the Rochester, NY area. 5 years ago I remarried a wonderful man (also German) and we live now in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. That is where the Rieth name comes from.
I would be very happy to hear from you and especially to know more about the Schramm family of Berlin. Heinz 's sister Renate also lives in Rochester, NY with her daughter Marlies. Her married name is Schulz. We do not know the whereabouts of Gerhard Schramm or Harri Schramm. I think they both died but we have never been notified of this.....Just a couple of months ago we received notice that Arno Schramm died from cancer. He remarried also and his wife's name is Karin Schramm. Jutta, Edith, Ruth and Christel all live in Berlin. Horst also is there and married to a lady named Monika but the last address we had was on Bismark Strasse....I do not know if they still live there. I guess this is all the information I can give you for now and I am most anxious to hear from you. God Bless You and keep you in his care.Barbara Schramm Rieth
