I coud not agree more on the research. I am planning on some additional work in the Hampshire records, hopefully next year. I did check all of the books available on Hampshire in the WV state library. Research in Orange Co is another story. I suppose there are not a lot of published record documents of the mid to late 1700's time for Orange Co.
Your comments on the various research suggestions are certainly valid and will be considered.
Granted we have not tied the VA Benjamin to a Thomas, but the fact both were in the area is something new. Also, there is a great case to be made that your Benjamin of PA is not the same Benjamin in Hampshire. Tax records and census records certainly do not agree.
Maybe 2009 Hampshire will present some additional info.
