Will of John M. Shull-Spencer Indiana (son of Peter Shull)
Spencer Indiana County Clerk Will Book 1 pg 302:
"State of Indiana Spencer County-January the 13th AD 1871.
I John M. Shull being advanced in age and feeble in body but sound in mind and viewing life uncertain do make and constitute this my last will and testament.
1st-I give and bequeath to God my soul who gave it.
2nd-I give my body to my friends to be interred in a descent manner in keeping with my former life and means.
3rd-I will that all my just debts be paid
4th-I gave and bequeath to my beloved wife Hannah all my household and kitchen furniture and one bay horse and one white cow and calf during her natural life at her death mu daughter Eliza Chandler is to have said horse and cow.
I further give and bequeath to my beloved wife Hannah two thirds part of all the interest that may arise or be collected from debts and mortgages which I hold against my son Charles(crossed out) George Shull about four thousand dollars ($4000) which I direct my executor to foreclose said mortgage at the expiration of four years from this date unless it becomes necessary by the death of said George Shull or otherwise to foreclose said mortgage sooner but to collect the interest annually on said mortgage.
I will that my wife have the 2/3 part of said interest during her natural life.
5th-I give and bequeath the residue of my etstate equally to my lawful heirs --unreadable word--- George Shull, Joseph Shull, William Shull, Eliza Chandler, Elizabeth Schudder, and Mary Schudder except William Shull who is to have one hundred and fifty dollars less than the rest of said heirs to offset a security debt that I paid for him ($150) and I hereby appoint William B. Richardson my lawful executor.
