Thank you once again for all this information. I do have FTM and would be happy to share what I have on the Scholeys by gedcom with you if you could let me have your e-mail address, which is currently hidden, or your postal address. John Scholey, known as Jack, a blacksmith who was later in the cavalry, was gassed on the Somme and died c. 1948, married Sophia Chambers (1886-1977), daughter of Joseph Chambers born Ecclesfield, South Yorkshire in c. 1842, and Mary Robinson born c. 1848 in Worsbrough, South Yorkshire, in 1912. (I am in fact better informed on Sophia - whom I knew - and the Chambers family than on Jack!) Jack and Sophia had two children, my late father-in-law George William Scholey (1912-1980) and Kathleen Scholey (c. 1919-c. 1948) who died young of tuberculosis. George married Phyllis Wroe in 1946. Jack Scholey had a brother Thomas b. 1900 whose son Alec (who died in the 1980s and whom I remember) was the last Scholey to farm Bank End Farm, Wortley, Robert's farm, and he had, I believe, two sons, one named Robert. The Charles Scholey whom you mentioned had a son named Ken. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Dennis Wood.
