There was a son to John, also called John, who died as a result of falling down the stairs in the English home in which my wife's 94 year old aunt, Freda Scholes was born.
Freda has always wondered what happened to the family who emigrated in order to get away from the tragedy. Freda's grandfather, Thomas Turner Scholes b1836, was brother to John Scholes b1875 who married the Emma b1842 you found for us. We have no idea about the married names of the daughters.
