Thanks Tim! I did some more digging after posting this msg, but I believe you do have my Schneider's! Karl Schneider's father was Mathias (b 1840). I also happened upon an 1880 census that listed Mathias as a butcher, and in turn pieced together he may have worked for a Mr William Tweedy (also a butcher). The Tweedy's were listed in the next household on the 1880 census.

I was trying to find out when they emigrated, and thanks for that date. Do you have a copy (or link) to the Gaston's passenger list with them on it?

Still working to see if any of Johannes' sons stayed in PA (excluding Mathias) & what happened to them. I'm still fairly new to genealogy so till trying to get a handle on all of this! If you have more info & care to share, feel free to send to my email address directly.
