Germans from Russia - family tie-ins
I keep running into the Schneider name in my family tree research.
I have an Elizabeth Schneider, b. abt 1885, married to Heinrich ELL, both born in the Kutchurgan region of Russia, near Odessa. Her sister, Marianna, b. 1889, married Heinrich's brother, Joseph ELL.Another sister married a GANZER(T).These people all settled in St. Joseph's Colony near Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan in the early 1900's, after a short stay in North Dakota.
Also, I read somewhere (can't find it now!) that the mother of my great-great-grandmother, Barbara WOLFE, may have been a Barbara Schneider married to Peter WOLFE.This is a long-shot, though.
Thought I'd take a stab in the dark!
Thanks for your interest.
Chandra
