Do you know where your PHILLIP came from? Was it perchance, Baden or the Alsace-Lorraine area of Germany? My grandfatehr Jacob had an uncle named Phillip, brother of Peter (b. 1806) and Mary Schmitt. Jacob came over with his parents Peter and Margaret (Stumpf) Schmitt in 1880. Mary also came over , but I don't know when she came. It may have been at the same time frame. She married an OECh and they lived in the Ridgeway area of Mn.. I do not know if my Phillip came over.
Thanks,
F. Hollingsworth
