SCHMIECH from NY to NJ

Hi,

I am seeking the SCHMIECH surname from New York middle
1800's to New Jersey in the 1900's. And if they connect
to other regions, so much the more interesting.

One family can be found for 1880 in the census of NY,
with the father deceased, but the mother Elisabetha, very
much alive with sons John G. SCHMIECH & Steven SCHMIECH.
