Hi Michelle
I am researching my husband's family as you are Michelle.
He is a Schmaling descended from Carl Herman and Caroline Volkmann. They were his great grandparents.
His name is Robert Schmaling . His father is Donald Schmaling and his Grandparents were Carl Schmaling and Elsie Zeller.
We live in the Goombungee area where Carl Herman Schmaling died in 1926.

We are going to Germany next year and are hoping to visit some places relevant to the family history.I would be interested in any further information you may have and I may also be able to expand yours in some way.
I would also be interested to see the maps Michael Simpson says he has.
Thanks a lot
Chris Nicholls (by the way I lived in Ipswich until recently)
