While researching another Michael Schlosser in my family line, I received a copy of a Naturalization Record from Tippecanoe Co., IN that reads:

"To the Judge of the Tippecanoe Circuit Court in the State of Indiana, I, Micheal Shloser being an alien and a free white person, makes the following report of himself: upon his solemn oath declares that he is aged 22 years; that he was born in the Kingdom of Byren that he emigrated from Liverpool in the year one thousand eight hundred and 65 that he arrived in the United States at the City of New York in the State of New York on the 1st day of October eighteen hundred and sixty five that he owes allegiance to Ludwig the Second King of Byron and that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce forever allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Ludwig the Second King aforesaid of whom he is a subject."

It has an original signature by Michael Schlofser (actually written in German Script)

"Sworn to and subscribed before me on the 5 day of Cotober, A.D. 1866
Daniel Royse Clerk C.C.
D. Watertuy (sp?) C.C."
