I'm working on the Slimmer Lineage. There has always been the
story passed down the line that our name was spelled Schlemmer but
was changed at some point. I've hit a brick wall. Until I can trace
back further in history, I'll never know if this story is true.
My ggg-gdad John Slimmer b: ?/?/1777 (??) d: 9/21/1845 OH
m: Susannah (Maybe Nelson)b:3/3/1787 (??) d: 4/4/1843 OH
Had known children
Joseph b:?/?/1807 (??) d:1/4/1828 (OH)
Peter b:8/26/1809 (MD) d:6/10/1875 (IA)
Christian b:10/?/1814 (??) d:8/20/1837 (OH)
Thomas b:11/?/186 (??) d:9/23/1838 (OH)
Census 1820, Ross County, Springfield, OH shows there were 4 males
4 females only 1 male adult & 1 female adult all others children.
Since we know my gg-gdad Peter was born in Maryland, feel others
might have been born MD, possibly John & Susannah married in MD.
Haven't been able to locate in more info.
There was also the story of several brothers and 1 left home &
started west, which was John Slimmer. Can't find any info to back
this up either. Feel if I can locate info on John & Susannah in
possibly MD, might help me out.
Anyone with any knowledge, ideas, suggestions, or help would be
greatly appreicated.
Anyone interested can also view my homepage at the following:
Thanking anyone & everyone in advance!
