Relation to Kurt Von Schleicher

My grandfather, Josef immigrated to the US early the 1900's I believe before 1915. My father and his sibllings were 1st generation American. I was told that his cousin was Kurt Von Schleicher. The family came from what was the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Of course the boundaries of countries as we know them now changed frequently due to war and politics. I believe the town they were from is now actually in Yugoslavia (Bjmok). My grandfather and his brothers eventually settled in the Milwaukee WI area and Akron OH area. I understood that the Schleicher and VonSchleicher family name was pretty widespread in this region in those days and most of the individual families had many children so the possible linkages are hard to trace especially with the major wars and unrest in that area of the world for so many years. As far as Kurt Von Schleicher is concerned, I had been told that he was the Chancellor of Germany and was executed by Hitler as he took over the power in Germany prior to WW2.It was always interesting for me to hear the "tales" and oral history as told by my Grandmother (my Grandfather died when I was 2) and my Dad, his brothers, sister and his uncles. Like most, I never committed to paper the history and stories told and now with my parents deceased and only a couple of elderly uncles left it is almost impossible to capture what they knew. Good luck in your continued seach.
