The Mazomanie Wisconsin Historical Society did a Civil War Cemetery Walk on July 6, 2013. Henry Schildt was our centerpiece character. We named him: "The Man Who Died Twice" since his funeral was held near Mazomanie in 1863, only for him to turn up alive! If any descendants would like a copy of our researched and documented script, please go to:www.mazocemeterywalk.com or hit a reply to this post. My husband portrayed Captain Schildt in the program. We can send you the script, a copy of the 19th century article from the local newspaper (discusses his recuperation in a Confederate hospital and return in a prisoner exchange). There is even a handsome and dashing photo of him in his uniform, probably taken shortly after the War. We live 1 mile from his grave, which I can photograph for you. I would be proud to help any of his relatives!
