Hello Scott,
Sorry I have not responded earlier, but have been out for two days of 'partying' in celebration of my 90th birthday on Wednesday, and have only just come back into focus again!
If your Daniel Schenck born in 1820 was the Daniel Schenck born in Ohio in December 1820 then I believe that he was a descendant of the well-known Dutch Family of Schenck van Nydeggen (or Nydek). Both Friedrich and I are descendants of the Schenck of Heilbronn Family Line which is of German origin, and as far as is known, we are not connected with the van Nydeggen Family
Although your Daniel Schenck born 1820 is not included in a copy of the Schenck van Nydeggen Family Tree that I have on my computer, you will find further information about him at :-

This clearly links him to the same van Nydeggen family Line.
I do hope that this will be of help and send you warm good wishes for your further research. Should you then find that you need further information about the Schenck van Nydeggen Family, then please feel free to e-mail me.
With warm good wishes
David
