I'm researching with my cousin Kevin Shell, who has already posted on this forum. We're trying to trace our lineage beyond our great grandfather George W. Schell(Shell) who was son of a Jacob Schell from Miami/Shelby County, OH, born about 1827. Jacob apparently married Eva Connover in Shelby County on Jul 1, 1849. We think they had a son James(1854), daughter Margaret(1856),our George(1858), son V.S.Grant(1866), son Jacob(Henry)(1869), and son Riley (William?)(1871). The family shows up in the 1880 Jewell County Kansas census. After that we find George and Jacob Henry in Atchison County MO (1900). Later, George moved to NE where he passed. Of the others, we only find Riley in W. central IA in 1920. We're seeking any ties that might reveal Jacob's parents in OH and their ancestoral roots. Also, if anyone is related to James, Margaret, V.S. Grant, Jacob Henry or Riley, we would like to share information.
