Barbara, That makes sense reference his POB. I will probably need to go to do some research, too. I just started though and want to go as far as I can from home until I hit a wall. Joseph died 01-10-58, and I will confirm location with Grandma. Mary Lucretia Sullivan (last wife and mother of my Grandma) was born 06-16-92 in Terrell County, TX to Mary and Joseph Sullivan. She died 01-15-66 in Glendale. I have found some documentary evidence for the dates and locations. I also remembered an article my Grandma wrote for an AZ history book with biographies and checked that info there. As far as the first wife goes, there is no family history beyond the fact that they were married. I guess there was absolutely no discussion of her, not surprisingly. I am still looking for anything documentary. I have been told that she was somehow related to the Clines(sp?) from the New River area. Mom said something about Joseph Schell wondering on occasion whatever became of some long lost siblings. I know he was aware of what happened with Hardy and Robert (as he was listed as informant on Robert's death certificate), so Maggie must be who he meant. Again, Grandma will know more, but it's easier to talk to her in person. She is still sharp as a tack and refuses to let anyone else feed her cows and horses for her, but the hearing is going at 85. As far as the Riggs go, we don't think they are related to the Willcox Riggs. That part of the family is from the Roswell/Ruidoso/Penasco Creek area of NM and came to AZ during the Depression. There are a lot of them who moved back to NM and farm chili around Elephant Butte Reservoir. I may find a link doing this research, though. If you are interested, I can get you more info on Joseph's kids, too. Three of the youngest four are still around. I also noticed in Grandma's article that Lizzie Muratt was supposedly the first registered nurse in AZ and died in 1955 at 103. I'll firm that up with her, and I can check and see if that might be a good research source. Thanks again. Notify Administrator about this message?
