I think this Michael Schatz may be my great grandfater. He died in Sandusky, Ohio on Jan. 7, 1933, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 11 days, which could make his birthyear 1858. We know he came from Alsace. He had a brother Martin. Martin had a son, Charles, who left Sandusky in the late 20's, early 30's and moved to Los Angeles. We've lost all trace of Charles. Michael's son was Earl Joseph, and his son is James Michael, my father. Hope this helps. E-mail me for any other questions.
