John S. Schatz was born 1853 in Illinois to George Schatz and Mary Dignum. The family moved to Missouri then to Kansas. I have found John living with this sister Maggie Jane Schatz Davis in California (on the 1930 census). Their sister Ella died in 1939 in Kansas, and John wasn't listed as a surviving sibling in her obituary. So he died between 1930 and 1939, presumably in California, but that is not known for certain. I hope someone out there can help me find our elusive uncle!
