David Schatz came from the Palentine of Northern Europe sailing primarily from Rotterdam, the Netherlands and where settled in PA. He was born in th late 1720's in Germany, married in the 1750's and lived in Westmoreland Co., PA. He said from Germany on a ship named ROSANNA. He sailed under the name DAVIS SCHZTZ. He and his sons changed the spelling of thier last name to Shotts. his wife is unknown. He had two sons, Joseph Shotts and David Shotts. Joseph was born in 1758, married (unknown). He died in Spartenburg, S.C. on Dec 12, 1823. He was a revolutionary soldier. David Shotts was born March 1, 1760, married Mary Wagner in 1786. He and his family moved from P.A. to Ohio in 1809. AS a young man he was a scout with Anthony Wayne and George Washington in P.A. and Ohio. Joseph had three sons, David Hillard Shotts, Daniel C. Shotts, John Shotts. David Shotts had 10 children7 girl and 3 boys. I am a decendent of David Hillard Shotts. I have a history from here on. I do not have any information of the family in Germany. I do not know who David Shatz's parents were.
