Schallenberg family history

Hello, I am a Belgian,(with an Italian father), but my grandmother (mother's side) was Elisabeth Schallenberg. A far family member made the whole geneology book for the family Schallenbergh in Belgium from 1720 until now, but their ancestors are the counts of Schallenberg in Austria. They received their title in 1180, and had a castle there. I wonder if you know this, and if you are interested. I don't know if we are family of you, but I know that between 1914 and 1940 a Frans Schallenbergh (an uncle of my grandmother) went to the US, (California, Texas or sth. ) but we have lost all contact with his children. Do you think it is easy to find something about that in the US or Canada?
Thanks, many regards
Adriano
