Hello Dorothy,
I just came across your e-mail requesting a history of the Schaible name and have put a copy into the land mail. I am wondering what is your connection to that name. Maybe there is a connection somewhere in our ancestory.
There was a Charles Schaibley who had a 5 & 10 cent store in Waynesboro. His father Michael had a wagon-making business in Columbia, Pa. and also served in the Civil War. Michael's father, Conrad was also my great-great-grandfather through another son, also named Conrad. This Conrad would have been a brother to Michael. Would you have any relationship to Charles or Michael? Just curious.
Sincerely, Earl Shaiebly
