I am tracking the descendants of Anthony Schaff who married Catherine Amweg (Omwake). He is said to have died in 1809 in Washington Co., Maryland. Catherine was reportedly born on 11 Sep 1778. The couple are supposed to have had four sons -- Peter, Andrew, John and Jacob (1805-1887). Peter and Andrew are supposed to have died in Indiana.
I found Andrew "Shoff" living in Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., Penna. in the 1830 census; He was listed at aged 30/40; two females were born 1825-1830, and one was born 1800-1810.
I saw Andrew "Shoaff" aged 50, b. Maryland, in Ross Twp., Butler Co., Ohio in the 1850 census, with his wife, Mary, aged 52, p. Pa. But none of his children are listed with them.
However, I did find Naomi Shoaff, 17, b. Pa. living in Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., Pa. with the Daniel Yockey family.
Jacob Schaff (1805-1887) lived in Franklin Co., Pa. and I have been trying to track down his three brothers. Looks like there's a chance that Andrew and Peter moved out to Butler Co., Ohio and then to Indiana.
