I want to find more information about the parents and siblings of George Schade, b. March 21, 1851 in St. Louis, Missouri; died May 11, 1892, Winslow, Pike Co., Indiana. In 1887, he married Mary Carter Cobb (my gg grandmother). They had three sons, Walter E., b. 1887 in Kansas; Otto F., born 1889 in Indiana; and Samuel b. 1891 in Indiana.
An affidavit in Mary's Civil War pension application for another of her husbands verifies that George Schade's birth was recorded in his mother's German family Bible, and that he often spoke of an older brother, John Henry, born November 1842, that had served in the Civil War. George himself did not. He and his wife and children are buried in Indiana.
