I am also researching the Scattergood family in Duffield and Nottingham. I have seen the 1881 census during my search and feel that there may be a relationship to my Samual Scattergood who married Maria Allsop in Duffield in 1835. Samual was born in Nottingham, the son of Thomas and Alice Waterhouse Scattergood in 1812. Samuel was also a Silk framework knitter.
