S. C. Scates Sep 26 1836-Feb 16 1907, buried Milligan Cem.
Can someone give further identification of this person. Does he appear on the 1900 census or earlier in Collin Co TX? Might he have been a Civil War Vet? Born where?
On rootsweb's Scates list someone suggested the name might be Samuel Columbus Scates because of another Scates with that name who was b. in 1846. There is also a chance that this is a female, since the name seems to have been transcribed from a gravestone. One Scates database shows a Sylvia Christine Scates b. in the 1930's who could have been named for an ancestor.
Any help identifying the family of S.C. Scates buried in Milligan Cem (E. of McKinney) will be appreciated.
