Killorglin parish baptism records are indexed from 1798 to 1917 and the marriage records are indexed from 1798 to 1946. A major obstacle facing anyone examining Killorglin parish records is that there are gaps in these records and the only dates for which there are indexed records are as follows:
Baptisms: 1798 - 1802; 1806 - 1851; 1857 - 1860; 1881 - 1917
Marriages: 1798 - 1802; 1806 - 1850; 1884 – 1946

In the Baptism records, these are the Scannell families from Douglas with children baptised in Killorglin (with the year range in brackets):
Andrew Scannell & Joanna Sullivan (1826 – 1838)
Andrew Scannell & Julia Teahan (1799)
Jeremiah/Dermot Scannell & Catherine Sheehan (1842 – 1849)
Denis Scannell & Hanora/Nora Egan (1827 – 1837)
Denis Scannell & Ellen Riordan (1850)
Denis Scannell & Ellen Sullivan ( 1799 – 1801)
John Scannell & Mary Foley (1901 – 1914)
Michael Scannell & Mary Kerrisk (1814 – 1832)
Timothy Scannell & Ellen Coffey (1889 – 1912)
Timothy Scannell & Mary Shea (1860)

There are baptism records for the children of Michael Scannell & Catherine Corkery as follows with baptism date in brackets:
Timothy (13/5/1886); Denis (15/4/1888); Joanna/Hannah/Joan (24/8/1890); Julia (7/5/1893); Helena/Helen/Eileen (13/9/1896); Catherine (20/7/1900).

There are no marriage records for Timothy Scannell & Ellen Casey, for Michael Scannell & Catherine Corkery or for a Denis Scannell and a Mary - that would match the information given.
