Hi Jeffrey: I am also researching a Scanlan line also. This is a long shot, but the only info. I have for my Scanlan surname is Margaret, b. 1829 from Listowell, Kerry, Ireland, married a John Canty in abt. 1855 in London. Maybe she had relatives in London, but I don't have that information as yet.
