Hi Catherine

It does indeed seem that we are related

I have the same certificate for Edward and Catherine's marriage, apparently Hock and Hough mean the same thing. The cert is slightly misleading and Edward was in fact born on 18th Feb 1854 in Lichfield, his mothers maiden name is noted on the cert. It would also appear that telling porkies about their age run in the family, as on the 1871 census of Stafford Dominic was 49 and Ann was 50 (they were noted as living at 15 Hunns Yard), however 10 years later the 1881 census shows they had only aged 1 year each! (now living at 77 Lower Street). Edward and Catherine also had an Edward on 13th October 1884. That Edward Married Ellen Shufflebotham and was my Nan's Father on my Mum's side. By that time (my Nan was born in 1920) the family still lived on Lower Street, this time number 116. I'm currently trying to get info on the Irish connection so I can go back still further, I will of course keep you informed if I manage a breakthrough.

How about your side?

Cary
