Nancy,

Just to make sure I rechecked Mother's papers and Mary Irving is correct. The information I gave you on Elizabeth Jane Scales Pillow's children and grandchildren came from a document my mother prepared from family data. The more recent generations I added based on my personal knowledge of the individuals. Those generations are certainly not complete so if you are interested I might could find out for you.

I don't know of a Floyd Scales, but then your information on the Scales seems a lot more complete and accurate than mine. Thanks for clarifying Wm Nathaniel's siblings.

Where did Wm Reese Pillow die? Interesting question. Wm Reese was born Feb 18, 1842 in Columbia TN, married Elizabeth Jane on Feb 18, 1868 in Greenwood MS. He died June 19, 1889. The only reference I have seen to his place of death shows Columbia TN. I would assume he died in Greenwood since that is where his plantation was and his family who continued to live their after his death. Maybe he died while visiting his family in TN?

There is a very good site on the Kaigler family at Kaigler.org. Martha Jane's line is Andrew, Andrew Jr, William.

I now believe I was wrong about ole Joseph being born in Virginia (at least in Pittsylvania). I looked up info on Pittsylvania VA and it appears it was not really settled at the time of Joseph's birth.

I haven't found a Scales website, it might be interesting to put one together on the descendents of Joseph similar to Kaigler.Org. What do you think?
