I have an ancestor, James Scahill, born around 1805. Though he probably left Ireland from Tipperary in the 1840s, he may have been from Galway originally and probably had a son named John or William. James eventually settled in Biddulph Township, Ontario with his second wife, Winifred, with whom he came to Canada. James had a son John who may have been born in Galway and may have later ended up in St. Louis. Some of this is factual, some of this is the traditional history passed down in a St. Louis, Missouri family. Do you know what Julia Scahill's mother's name was...or her father's? Any names of siblings?
