I believe that Henry B. Thomas was the grandfather of my great-great-great-grandfather, Alfred Edward Thomas. I do not know the name of Alfred's father. His mother was Susan Blake Bates Thomas. I believe that Alfred's father was Henry son by a marriage other than Elizabeth and Henry B. Perhaps he was married before her. On the 1850/1860 census, the Thomas family is living in rural Williamsburg County, most probably some place between Greeleyville, S.C. and Suttons, S.C. This is about a twenty-mile stretch along the Santee River. Many Thomases still reside in rural Williamsburg/Gerogetown County along the Santee River area. My branch moved South across the river into Berkeley County. Would love to here anything you have on Henry B.

P.S. I believe his son Henry B (b. 1829) is buried in Thomas Memorial Cemetery in Olanta, S.C.
