In "Union County (SC) Heritage there is a write up for Thomas Hollis and his first wife, Rebecca Bobo. They lived and died in Union County. Excerpts from his will also list as children: Wesley, Willis, Jesse, John, Sarah, Nancy, Delilah, Janett. Rebecca died in March 1829. This article does not mention a second marriage.
That information is found in the "Union County SC Deed Abstracts, Vol V, Bks T-W 1828-1835 [1778-1835] by Brent H. Holcomb. The deed book shows an agreement between Thomas Hollis and Anna (Beard) Pearson on 11 Nov 1829 prior to their marriage. This agreement guaranteed that each of their own children would receive their proper inheritance at the death of Thomas and Anna.
My question is did Thomas and Anna have any children of their own? In years past I have seen the name of one child attributed to them. This child has been linked as marrying into a family which just doesn't add up with the proper dates of the persons involved.
I'm hoping that some of you will have information one way or the other that will clear this up. Thank you.
