Thomas Wells, 1745-1799, Sumter District

I'm looking to compare notes with other Wells family researchers on the Wells in Sumter District. It appears as though there might have been two Wells families in the area, or perhaps they were related. Trying to determine how my Thomas Wells (1745-1799) fits in. He married Ann James, daughter of Francis James and granddaughter of Sherwood James. Children included Elizabeth, John W., and Richard Wells, among others. Elizabeth Wells married Jesse White.
