Announcing....A Complete Inventory of Sumter Cemetery, SUMTER, S.C. AVAILABLE OCTOBER 1, 2005. A thorough update of the Bicentennial Publication of 1976...Further updated to include a full and complete transcription of all inscriptions and epitaphs on each stone.
In commemoration of the SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF WORLD WAR II, this update is dedicated to the near 400 soldiers who served in that great war who are buried or so memorialized in Sumter Cemetery.
The earlier history written by the late Ms. Cassie Nicholes, well known sumter historian will also be included with some update and revisions.
Full color photographs as well as an updated aerial photo will also be included.
This volume, softbound contains near 450 pages...fully indexed...records of 10,000 +/- inscriptions and burial records. Also includes burials of 800 veterans of the US Armed forces dating back to the War Between the states and as recent as the Persian Gulf War. Over 1750 surnames in the index.
