Merritt/Steadman Families

My great-grandparents were Sarah Merritt(1849-1934) and John Elbert Steadman, from Ridge Spring. A small town nearby was named for John Elbert's father--the town of Steadman, SC. After marrying they moved to Denmark, SC. Any info on these families is appreciated!
