Visit http://www.rootsweb.com/~scpicke2/surnames.html and you can view the Old Pendleton District (Anderson-Oconee-Pickens) Genealogical Society's "Cemetery Survey Surname Index" project that should be completed this year.

I have a job for you, IF, your a very dependable person who just loves to type! You will be sent a MS Word ".doc" file that will consist of a list of surnames. Then you will simply add a prefix code to each name.

Currently: Doe, John C., 9

Change to: B2-009, Doe, John C., 9

(B2 = Survey Book #2 & 009 = Page #9)

At this point-in-time, the database WILL NOT provide you with Date-of-Birth and/or Death dates. This is simply a Phase-1 Database that will tell you who's memorial marker has been recorded by the society. The marker's dates can be obtained by referencing and/or purchasing the coded number survey.

Until the total project is typed & compiled, it will be necessary for researchers to search each of the individual six surveys.
