Kathy, I am up to my neck researching the Keith Family. I am trying to prove (or disprove) that Robert Allen's (born about 1810) mother was Nancy Keith. William Allen (his father) and about 5 other Allens, Samuel, 2 Jameses, William & John came down to Old Pendleton SC from Buncombe NC after they had that Old Walton skirmish in the late 1700's. Robert married Lydia Burch, daughter of Jarret (on the 1820 census it says Jared). William Allen is beside Cornelius Keith in 1810 and 2 doors down in 1820. In the 1830 census William and Robert came to Rabun Co, GA but William must have died before the next census because I see Robert living in Gilmer Co GA and Nancy is listed with him. Another researcher and I have always done the "assume" thing with her maiden name. Long story short, I just can't prove it. I do see a Nancy Allen that married Cornelius Keith and I do believe we are related to that Nancy but haven't got the proof. I think that Samuel Allen is the grandpappy of them all, but..... Anyway, I'm not going anywhere until I get it straight who Nancy really is. Help!
Cheryl
