Thank you as well. Your post has provided me with some excellent clues. The discrepancies in our information will give me a few things to work on. According to the Cherokee application of Elizabeth Watts, her grandmother and Isaac Nicholson's wife was Lucresy Dover. You have the name as Lucinda Davis. I looked again at the application and although the last name looks like Dover, it could be Davis. That would make a lot of sense since there were several Davises in Monroe County, Tennessee in 1830. The Lucresy is pretty clear, though, and the name Lucretia runs in the Nicholson Family. Yet, the names Lucinda or Lucy/Lucretia or Lucresy and Davis and Dover could easily be misspelled and misread in the old records. Or we may be looking at the wives of two different people. I hope that all of us working together with these tiny pieces of the puzzle can soon figure out the whole picture.
