I am seeking information that documents a connection to these three listed Smiths as possible siblings. Quite recently, I received an email stating that Nancy Smith Elliott was a sister to my Thomas Harrison Smith. I have not heard back from this individual after I sent much data.
Nancy and Thomas were living in Lumpkin in 1846, they have no connection to any of the Smiths there, and they married abt the same time in Lumpkin. Nancy married James J. Elliott and Thomas married Harriet Elizabeth Taylor (my gg grandparents)They were both listed in the 1850 census there, also.
By 1860, Nancy and her family had migrated to Forsyth County Ga living next door to Miles Hampton Smith and his family. They had children with similar names. Hampton is a common name in my Smith family.Miles named a daughter Nancy.
Miles continued to live in Forsyth County, but Nancy and most of her family migrated to Yell County Arkansas.
By 1880, Thomas and Harriet had 3 children living in Forsyth County. These children married into Forsyth County families: My great grandfather William Joseph married Mary Elizabeth Gilstrap (I have plenty of documentation on the Gilstraps). His sister Coloma Sarah married Barney Elliott, son of another James Elliott and wife Maranda of White County to Forsyth County. A brother Emmaziah Smith married Rosa Etta Elliott, sister to Barney. They named a son Hampton!!!
Can anyone help me with Miles Hampton and Nancy other that listing them in trees. I need documentation. I am trying to establish through documentation their parents and grandparents names and other information. Thanks for any small piece of this perplexing Smith puzzle.
