Paula, Thank you for responding. Looking at the dates from your reply, it now appears that there might have been a third Henry Hester in Pickens County about the same period of time.

I am quite interested in your response. The LOOPER name caught my attention. In the 1850 Pickens County census there is a Henry Hester age 27 (born 1823) as head of household with a Malissa age 25 living in the household. I believe her maiden name to be Looper, daughter of Daniel Looper. She was referred to as Polly and Mary also. I have not come across the info. you provided me about Sarah Hester who was married to Joseph Looper. This Henry is the age of my ggrandfather so I am still hoping this is a find.

I truly appreciate your input.
