Hello, my name is Christina Ashley Gilstrap.

Dora Dena Powell Gilstrap was my great-grandmother. That would make Belinda Gilstrap Witko (one of the contributors to this site, my great-uncle Lawrence Gilstrap's daughter). Dora's husband was Jehue Sylvester Gilstrap.
My question is, who were Dora Dena Powell Gilstrap's parents? Were they Almond Powell and Elizabeth Powell? If I understand correctly, Almond Powell was Ansel's (or Asael's)father.
I too am trying to reconstruct the family history--any help you may provide would be wonderful! I hope to hear from you soon.
