McCAY (McCOY-McKAY) & BELL Families 1800s Pickens

Hello:

Always searching for new info about my McCAY and BELL families of 1800s Pickens County, South Carolina. My McCAY line is sometimes spelled as McCOY or McKAY. Please see below for outlines of both familes.

Thomas H. McCAY (son of Daniel McCay & Betsy STANLEY)
b. 1806 South Carolina
d. 1843 Pickens County, SC

Thomas was a gunsmith, blacksmith, & farmer. He was listed as Thomas McCOY in the 1840 Pickens County Census.
He married Elender BOLLING in August of 1827.
She was b. 1813 in South Carolina. My Elender BOLLING is supposed to be a granddaughter of Samuel BOLLING (1752-1808) of Laurens County, SC. (Great-Granddaughter of Col. William BOLLING (1731-1776) who married Mary Amelia RANDOLPH.)

Thomas died sometime before OCT 1843 - his estate papers were dated Oct 9, 1843. After Thomas McCAY died, Elender remained a widow till after the War Between the States.
Elender then married Anderson GRIFFIN in 1865 in Pickens County. (They had no children.) Anderson GRIFFIN served in the Confederate Army, and lost an arm in battle.
Anderson GRIFFIN was the son of Sargent GRIFFIN and Averillah BARTON.

George S. BELL born in Virginia around 1784.
m. Sarah _______? born in South Carolina around 1786.

They moved to the Pendleton District (Anderson, Pickens, and present-day Oconee Counties of South Carolina) and had a large family but only three of the sons have been identified

George S. Bell and wife Sarah ________ were on the 1830 Pickens County (formed from Pendleton district) census.

George BELL sold land to his son John BELL in 1831 and 1832.
One of the witnesses was a Gideon Martin. Some of the MARTIN family and another BELL family moved to Mississippi.
They are descendents of a William Bell, born 1727 in Antrim, Ireland. Are these BELLs related to my line?

George BELL bought 150 acres in Cherokee county GA 1/22/1849. The last record for George and Sarah is the 3/13/1855 sale of land to John FLORISH.

George and Sarah died sometime between 1855 and 1860.

My GGG Grandfather John BELL was born 26 FEB 1807 SC -- he married Arah(Amy)Beck SWAFFORD. She was born 11 NOV 1806, Pickens District, SC. She and John BELL were listed in the 1860 Pickens District Census, and in the 1870 Oconee County, South Carolina census. She died in 1890. John died in May, 1891.

They had ten children:
