trying to locate the mother of josiah bud chapman,john jacky chapman,nancy chapman,ella nora chapman,george w chapman. im told there mother's name is malinda-linda chapman b.1845 pickens co. d.mar 14, 1921 pickens-eastatoe co sc buried at mckinny's chapel. she married a josiah big joe chapman b.dec 29 1829 d. jan 27 1904 eastatoe sc also buried at mckinny's chapel,im told that malinda died being a hester thats what it states on her tombstone im told by my older cousion. malinda's father is pick-picken turner from greenville i did find a pickens on a censue for 1830 in greenville sc. however not sure if the right person. his wife was a sallie last name unknowen possibly she could have went by sarah. malinda's son josiah bud chapman b.feb 28 1868 pickens co d. june 1896 eastatoe sc he married laura d powell b.nov 10 1866 d. aug.1928. josiah was also shot down by sheriff john lewis of pickens co sc june 6 1896 for a crime he did not commit.even thow he did run stills. they are also related to van buren powell that would be josiah's brother in law. the time when josiah was shot his neighbor was a sialas hinkle. some of my chapman relatives once lived where dukes electric is standing now. these are descendents of joseph chapman of halifax va b.1745 d. pickens co sc in 1836. and also related to john chapman and nancy pulliam. im mainly just interested on who malinda turner-chapman-hester's parent's are and there parents and where they come from, i have not found any answers i do have a picture of malinda so i know she exist. i know that her mother is full blooded indian and father portugues making them melungeon's im told. anybody with any answers or ancestors to me please contact me.
